Claiming and Rebates
Better Access Initiative – Medicare rebates of $89.65 – $131.65 per session, for 10 sessions per calendar year are available for psychology sessions under this initiative for services concerning mental-health (i.e., anxiety, depression, eating-related).
Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDM) – A rebate under a CDM is available for clients with a chronic (or terminal) medical condition. A chronic medical condition is one that has been (or is likely to be) present for six months or longer. The CDM entitles clients to 5 Allied Health consultations per year. With our psychologists the CDM rebate is $56 per session.
Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA) – All of our practitioners are registered providers for the department of veteran affairs.
Private Health – Our HICAPS electronic claims facility means clients with private health insurance are able to obtain their rebate (depending on their level of cover) at the time of appointment.
Medicare Safety Net
Clients are encouraged to register for the Medicare Safety Net, which is designed to protect high users of health services from large out-of-pocket expenses.
*Out of pocket costs is the difference between the Medicare benefit and what your doctor charges you. Schedule fee is a fee for service set by the Australian Government. Gap amount is the difference between the Medicare benefit and the schedule fee. EMSN is the Extended Medicare Safety Net*.
