Sharni Ephraums – Psych

Sharni Ephraums – Psych

In my capacity as a Psychologist, I aim to provide a safe, non-judgmental and empathetic context that will allow for positive change and progress toward your goals for therapy.  I have a particular interest in supporting university students and new graduates as they navigate internships and student placements. My areas of interest include:

  • Depression and low mood
  • Anxiety Disorders
  • Obsessive-compulsive disorders
  • Interpersonal difficulties
  • Eating disorders OR Body Image/self-esteem
  • Stress management/burnout

My sessions are focused on you:  My intention is to create a therapeutic environment where we can progress at a pace that feels comfortable for you. Central to my therapeutic style is the belief that any difficulty you may be facing should not define you as a person. My primary goal is to collaborate with each of my clients, fostering a transparent and trusting therapeutic relationship.

A little bit about me: I was drawn to psychology because of my desire to work with people. Yes, I thought about real estate, HR – people & culture, and a multitude of other relationship focussed careers but was drawn to psychology because of the satisfaction and engagement that I derive from doing ‘deep work’ with people. There is nothing more satisfying to me than playing a role in assisting my clients to progress toward their recovery and life goals. Observing the resilience and openness of individuals as they navigate their personal difficulties has heightened my understanding and appreciation for the transformative impact that therapy can have.

Outside of my work,  I enjoy spending time with my loved ones, particularly with my fur baby Rottweiler, Chicago. I enjoy playing social netball, reformer Pilates and travelling whether it’s locally or overseas.

Preferred Therapeutic Frameworks:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
  • Schema Therapy
